For my Audio story I wanted to choose something that I am pretty passionate about and enjoy to do, as well as something that is happening in real time at this point in the year.
Because of this I chose to focus on archery, with this being something that I do very often in the summer preparing for archery season in September for elk and deer. This is also something that I have learned a lot about in the past years, as I have gotten more into the sport.
I decided to do almost a vlog style audio story, in a way taking you with me while I go out to shoot my bow on a summer evening. In this I explained a little about what I was doing while shooting while still remaining in the allotted time.
I figured that I needed clips from through my evening of shooting so i started off walking down the hall, recorded that, opening the door, recorded that, and so on as I went through my process of what I do when I go out to shoot in the evenings.
One thing that I think I could have done better on an audio story like this is be more descriptive with what I was doing and the setting I was in. This would help the listener draw a picture in their head of what I was doing and would help with explaining what I was doing.
The editing process I found much easier on Audition than the other programs that we used. I was able to clip down the parts of my clips that I wanted to use. I thought it would be cool to be able to shoot the bow and hear the arrow hit the target, so I used me shooting in my original clips for the first part of that, and then later in the evening I set my phone down by the target and recorded myself shooting arrows at the target to have high quality audio of them hitting the target. This allowed me to edit them and bit and put them in order to where you could hear me shoot and then immediately hear the arrow smack the target which I thought was a good addition to the audio story.
I thought about adding music but because of the wind in the background that I was unable to really get edited out, I decided to not add music so you could hear me talk better through out it.
